Enjoy the warm vibes of The Big Green Cardigan
This year’s Friday headliners, The Christians, is a much-loved Liverpool band whose infectious melodies and harmonies have deep emotional impact. Feeding on accusations, protest, despair and even self-doubt, their “socially aware soul” made a big impact in the late 1980s. Their double-platinum debut album, The Christians, featured the Top 30 singles Forgotten Town, Hooverville, Ideal World and Born Again. Over the years they have continued to tour extensively in the UK, Spain and France receiving rave reviews for live performances. The Christians are performing as part of a Friday line-up which includes folk/punk Matilda’s Scoundrels and indie darlings Dorey the Wise. Friday tickets are just £18.
Other acts over the weekend include major festival favorites Tankus the Henge, and award-winning Jo Harman, Lisa Mills and Brooks Williams, both from the USA, and Terry Pack’s 30-plus player jazz ensemble Trees, plus British Blues award winner King Size Slim, Tim Hoyte, Noble Jacks and Roger Hubbard.
