Comedian Rod kicks off eagerly awaited tour at The Capitol
Now, Rod takes to the stage at The Capitol in Horsham on Saturday, May 2 (8pm), the first night of his eagerly awaited debut tour.
The son of renowned Welsh sports writer Karl Woodward, Rod was tipped for stardom by such luminaries as Peter Kay and the late Bob Monkhouse and has since gone on to win the Best Newcomer to Variety award, Encore Magazine’s Entertainer of the Year and BBC’s Funny Business. His television appearances include The Comedians, The Rush Hour, A Bit Off The Fringe, and Am I Talking To You.

In 2000, Rod was invited to be guest speaker at the Professional Footballers’ Association Footballer of the Year Awards dinner. He hosted Max Boyce’s 50th Anniversary Celebration at the Wales Millennium Centre, performed at the Planet Hollywood Hotel in Las Vegas after the weigh-in for the Bernard Hopkins v Joe Calzaghe fight, sold out the Cardiff International Arena Conference Theatre, wrote and performed the Cardiff City Fans anthem Do The Ayatollah’, which had more than 200,000 hits on YouTube, and wrote and performed three series of his own Radio Wales Comedy series, Doing It For A Laugh.
