Staff at Avon Manor dementia care home, in Manor Road, painted a chair yellow for the occasion and placed it on the drive last Tuesday.
The chair was chosen to symbolise the empty seat left by those who have died of Covid-19 and daffodils were made available for any passers by who needed a smile.

Hide AdStaff and residents held a minute’s silence and everyone received a butterfly or bird to reflect on people who have died in the past year.
Different people read out what lockdown had meant to them, with comment including ‘I don’t like masks, I can’t see a smile’ and ‘I’m happy here and have friends and fun’.
Residents also read out poems and everyone watched out a video of what they had been doing in the home in the past year.
They enjoyed watching out the window to see people stop at the chair to reflect and collect a daffodil.
To end the day, there was singing and a lovely afternoon tea.
