Councillors’ concern over school transfer age issues
Members of Worthing county local committee lent their support to ongoing plans to revitalise the town’s school system at a meeting last Wednesday – but remained uneasy about several issues.
Potential changes to catchment areas and worries over a short time frame to deliver the changes in time to take advantage of Government funding were points of discussion.

Hide AdThe members were responding to a presentation given by the council’s head of capital infrastructure Colin James, who detailed the age of transfer plans, which include details of a new school, in Broadwater.
Pier divison councillor Michael Cloake said: “I am broadly in favour but I have my concerns. Why is Worthing behind again and scrapping for funding, when we could do this in a much better way if we had all the money in the world?”
