East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service were called to a fire at Eastbourne Pier today (August 10).

In a statement East Sussex Fire and Rescue service said: “East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service were called to Eastbourne Pier at 12.41pm today.
“Crews used a hose reel to put out a fire affecting a small area of decking and joists.
“As of 1.22pm they were cutting away and damping down to ensure the fire was all out.
“There are no reports of any injuries.”
