In July 2022, as part of the Queen's Green Canopy initiative, the congregation of Holy Trinity Church, in Rushams Road, Horsham, spearheaded a campaign to raise money for a tree for the Victory Road Recreation Ground.
With the help of the Trafalgar community, £250 was raised very quickly and the service tree (Sorbus Torminalis), was planted last Thursday (March 16).
In recognition of the hundreds of voluntary hours put in by The Friends of the Rec, Horsham District Council has installed two malus trees and a picnic bench near the children's play area.
