Handcross
Handcross Ladies Association: will be holding their meeting in the Parish Hall on Tuesday, 11 December from 7.30pm. It will be an evening of Christmas crafts with an opportunity to make a Christmas wreath... with no sewing required! Followed, I’m sure by tea and cakes! If you would like more information, please get in touch with the committee on [email protected].
The Community Bus Committee: have already started planning trips for next year with the first being on Tuesday, 15 January with a trip to the Capitol Theatre in Horsham for a film; the cost is £5 for the bus, plus the cost of your ticket. February’s outing is on Tuesday 12th with an afternoon visit to the South Downs Garden Centre, including museum. The bus will leave Nymans at 12 noon and returns at 4pm; the cost is just £5 for your fare. On Tuesday, 12 March you can enjoy a trip to Worthing leaving Nymans at 9am returning 3pm and the fare is £12. If you would like to put your name down for any of these trips, or would like to know what is planned for later in the year, get in touch with Christina in the Hardware Shop or give her a ring on 400212. If you want to bring a friend from outside the village, this would not be a problem, all you need to be aware of is that fares need to be paid 4 weeks in advance of the trip and if you have to cancel, you will only be able to get a refund if your seat can be filled.

Hide AdFinally: having been to the Parish Council meeting last week and further to my news last week on the Neighbourhood Plan, it was mentioned that we have been given longer than usual to comment on the Plan because of Christmas, which was good to know. I did ask if the Council was going to advertise/announce the fact that the Plan was out for consultation but I was informed that it is no longer the Parish Council’s ‘baby’, it belongs to Mid Sussex District Council and it is now their job to take it through to the final vote by collating all comments before passing them to an examiner to take into consideration. So please, do let family, friends and neighbours know that this is where we are at and further information can be found on the MSDC website as well as the Parish Council’s. This then led on when we would be able to vote on it. Unfortunately, no date can be set until an examiner has been appointed (by MSDC) as it will be down to them to say when they think they will have completed all they need to do. As soon as I know more, I will let you know but it won’t be until the New Year as there is no meeting in December but January’s meeting will be a week earlier than usual, on Thursday 24 January rather than the last Thursday of the month which is the 31st.
