This was the view of the large number of residents attending this meeting. Discussion was led by MP Huw Merriman, Cllr Glazier, Cllr Earl and an officer from Highways England – all were there to answer questions, of which there were many.
It was accepted that the disturbance being suffered by residents was from the increase in traffic due largely to the new Link Road.

Hide AdIn order to solve this, the only solution as I and others see it, is for immediate steps to be taken to obtain funding for a diversion of the Marsh Road to take traffic round the north of Sidley to connect up with the just completed Link Road.
This must be done now since as soon as the recently approved estate of 275 houses to the north of the Barnhorn Road makes progress, the Little Common disturbance will increase dramatically.
Action and support needs to be taken now by RDC and not shelved.
