Possible answer to school drop-off traffic chaos

The resulting congestion around school entrances has to be accepted, and it would surely, therefore, seem sensible to expect children to live with the situation – even if it means stepping on the road at times. Is this any more dangerous than other risks in life?
However, one way of easing the problem might be to have a ‘crocodile’ assembly point, maybe 100 to 200 yards away from the school, and ideally near a car park, or failing this near one or more wide roads.

It is unlikely that there would be enough existing lollipop ladies and men, so they could be supplemented by more recruits and/or teachers and/or parents, grandparents or other volunteers.
