Horsham GP surgery speaks out after being told it must improve

Park Surgery in Albion Way was inspected by the Care Quality Commission in May and, in a report just out, was said to have breached regulations.
The commission rated the practice as ‘Requires Improvement.’

Hide AdIn a statement today, the practice said it welcomed the commission’s findings and pointed out that it had rated some of its services as ‘Good.’
It also said that, along with other NHS practices across the country, it was experiencing high levels of demand.
It stated: “Our main priority is patient safety and how we care for our patients.
“We welcome the findings of this recent CQC inspection that has rated our effective, caring and responsive areas as good.

Hide Ad"We recognise that it has identified areas that require improvement and these are areas we have been taking steps to improve.
“We have also welcomed lots of new staff to Park Surgery in the last year. We aim to increase our overall patient satisfaction with the improvement work we are
implementing.
“General Practice services in Sussex are facing the same pressures being reported nationally and are responding to an increase in demand for services alongside delivering the Covid-19 vaccination and influenza programmes ahead of winter.
“GP services in Sussex are now offering more appointments to their patients than before the pandemic, however as with many NHS services across the country, they
are experiencing high levels of demand along with workforce challenges.”
