Tilgate Park Nature Centre reopens to visitors after icy conditions

The snow started to fall at around 5pm on Sunday and continued throughout the night. This was not an issue for the animals at the nature centre as they could be seen enjoying the rare sight of snow.
However, the snowfall and the continued ice resulted in the nature centre closing its gates due to the dangerous conditions.

Hide AdGood news now is that as of 12pm today (December 13), the nature centre has reopened but some of the reptile houses remain closed.
A post on Tilgate Park’s Facebook page said: “We have gritted the paths in Tilgate Nature Centre. With the sun shining brightly we will now be open from 12pm onwards and welcome visitors this afternoon.
“Please note that some of our reptile houses will be shut today to retain heat!”
