Police hunt for prison absconder

A CONVICTED burglar has absconded from Ford Open Prison.

Police and prison service officers are hunting for 36-year-old Michael O’Rourke who absconded from the prison on Wednesday.

O’Rourke, who is serving a sentence for burglary and theft, was identified as missing at 4.30pm. He is known to have got a taxi around 9pm from Horsham railway station. A number of reports of sightings have been received from Sutton – his home area and where his offending occurred.

He is white, of medium build, around 5ft 8ins, with a shaved/bald head and was last seen was wearing grey jogging bottoms, white jumper and black trainers with a white trim. He is believed to be carrying a large green raincoat.
