A human bone has been discovered in Lewes – sparking a police probe.

Sussex Police said at 3pm on Wednesday (November 18), officers were called to Brook Street, Lewes, having been alerted to a discovery of a human bone.

A spokesman for the force said: “The remains were located on a bank directly next to the St John sub Castro churchyard.

Sussex Police is working with partner agencies and at this time are not treating this as suspicious.”
