For each area, we break down how much each precept is set to go up by for a Band D property, although increases might be even higher where town and parish councils also agree to increases.

Sussex Police's share of council tax will increase by 7.5 per cent, the equivalent of an extra £15 a year for a Band D property. This was signed off by the police and crime panel last month.

Last Tuesday, East Sussex County Council signed off a 1.99 per cent base council tax and 1.5 per cent adult social care levy, totalling 3.49 per cent, adding an extra £52.02 a year on a Band D property's bill.

On Friday, West Sussex County Council agreed to a 4.99 per cent increase, made up of a 1.99 general rise, and three per cent adult social care levy. This equates to an additional £71.82 a year.

East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service's precept is set to go up by 1.99 per cent, adding an extra £1.80 a year to a Band D property's bill. This was signed off by fire authority members last Thursday.
