Revised development plan for former Hastings school playing field

In an application to Hastings Borough Council, developers are seeking planning permission to build eight houses on land in Hollington Park Close, which is part of the former Westerleigh School site.
The land is considered to be an appropriate development site and had previously been granted planning permission for seven houses in 2012, although this approval has now expired as the homes were not built.

Hide AdAn earlier application to build eight houses on the site was refused earlier this year, due to officers’ concerns around its layout, drainage, impact on local ecology and highways issues.
Developers say this revised scheme overcomes these concerns, however, including highways upgrades, a new drainage scheme and an improved site layout, which puts the houses further away from one another.
The new proposals would see eight four and five-bedroom houses built on the site, forming a new cul-de-sac off of Hollington Park Close.
Each house would have at least two parking spaces, with some also having garages. All the houses would also have gardens.
Developers are also seeking to dissolve a Public Right of Way, which cuts through the site.
