‘Rule out closing Bognor Regis rubbish tip’
West Sussex County Council is exploring options for cuts as it looks to balance the upcoming budget for 2021/22.
One of these is to close two of its 11 household waste recycling sites, although the authority has not confirmed which locations it is looking at.

He said it would enable the community to ‘send a clear message that we need to retain this local amenity for the town’.
The next nearest sites to Bognor Regis are Westhampnett near Chichester and Littlehampton.
Mr Stanley, who is standing as a candidate in next year’s county council elections, said: “There is a suggestion that the county council could close two of their civic amenity tips, this course of action will undoubtedly lead to chaos and a surge in fly-tipping as we saw during the first national lockdown.”
