Post box puzzler
The red Victorian post box, which stood outside the post office in Battery Hill, was discovered uprooted and laying horizontal on Monday morning.
How it got there is a mystery with one resident contacting the Observer to put forward the theory that a mini-cyclone in the village, overnight on Sunday, had been responsible. He said: “The wind was very strong, it blew my garden shed across the lawn.”

Resident Sylvia Gutsell said: “Someone has put a chain around that and attached it to a vehicle. You can see it has been pulled straight up. It would not have blown over.”
