A road has been closed in Brighton while firefighters make a balcony safe.

Two fire engines were called to Denmark Terrace to following reports of a balcony 'being adrift', police said.

Police have closed Denmark Terrace between Victoria Road and Clifton Hill while crews make the scene safe.

Eyewitnesses said it appeared the balcony had collapsed.

Emergency services left the scene and the road was reopened at just before 11pm.
