Bennett angry as Golds exit RUR Cup
Golds were 2-0 up through two Mitchell Hand goals, before Peacehaven struck twice in nine minutes of injury-time to send the tie to extra-time.
Peacehaven then got the winner on 107 minutes when Littlehampton’s Lee Garnham was grounded with a head injury, which required an over-night stay in hospital.

“But they got their equaliser in the ninth minute of injury-time and where the referee got that from, I don’t know – it was just ridiculous.
“Then, in extra-time, Lee blocked a free kick with his head and they scored while he was down. The referee should have stopped play for a head injury – when I ran on to the pitch to treat Lee, he was out cold and he spent the night in hospital. That’s what really disappointed me most.
“But I was so proud of all my players last night.”
Golds have another big game on Saturday when they travel to Newhaven for a top-of-the-table clash in County League Division 2.
