Hide AdEast Sussex County Council, which is responsible for the highways and the parking scheme in Eastbourne, said, “We have scheduled in a number of days to carry out lining work on the new road surface in Eastbourne town centre but, as the work can only be carried out in dry weather, we have been prevented by the amount rain we have experienced in recent weeks.
“We would like to assure members of the public we will carry out the work to enable us to enforce parking restrictions at the first available opportunity.
“We appreciate the concerns over cars parking on unmarked roads in Eastbourne town centre.
“Until we are able to complete the road markings, we would urge motorists to park responsibly, considerately and safely.”
