Figures from NHS England show 45,028 people in the town have received at least one dose of the vaccine, as of yesterday (March 4).
That is just under half of the population aged over 16.
A total of 25,750 people over the age of 60 – the age group considered to be the most vulnerable to hospitalisation – have been given at least one dose.
