Spending a month away made me realise how spoiled we are in this city, especially with regards to food.
From themed pop-ups in community spaces to high-end, formal dining, Brighton and Hove is one of the most promising food destinations in the United Kingdom. And now that summer has started, there is even more time to explore our ever-expanding food scene.

The New Club

A firm favourite among the Places I Eat Brighton team, it's been thrilling to watch this New-York-influenced bar/restaurant go from strength to strength.

Running from September 4 to 14, the Brighton and Hove Food and Drink Festival is the perfect end to a summer of food merriment.
Nick Mosley, the festival director, promises an eclectic array of events including Food Lab - which partners top chefs and producers alongside each other to create unique dishes - and a new foraging masterclass, as well as old favourites including Bitter and Twisted beer and cider evening, plus Sussex and the World Food Market.
