Cash donation to help hospice patients
The money will go towards the hospice’s community nursing services which help patients with a terminal diagnosis benefit from specialised care in the comfort of their own homes.
Around 80 per cent of hospice patients across Sussex and Surrey are cared for at home. The hospice’s community nurses are specially trained in palliative care and can provide assessments, advice and support for any physical, practical or emotional concerns a patient may have.

Hide AdHospice spokesman Andy Perry said: “We’re really grateful to Burgess Hill Town Council for their continuing support. Community nursing is a big part of St Catherine’s care and it allows each patient to spend valuable time with their family in their own home. This grant will help them to achieve the best quality of life in the time they have left.”
Linda Henson, advanced palliative care nurse practitioner in the Burgess Hill area, said: “Local support is invaluable in allowing us to continue providing care to both patients and those closest to them as well as supporting them to live well and achieve their desired goals and aspirations whilst living with a terminal illness. Being at home for many of our patients is very important so we’re really
appreciative of this funding. Thank you to Burgess Hill Town Council for their support.”
