Littlehampton supermarket delivers support to carers’ charity

SUPERMARKET staff have pledged to help a charity supporting carers across West Sussex.

The Littlehampton branch of Sainsbury’s has adopted Crossroads Care South Central as its charity partner for the next 12 months.

Based in Climping, Crossroads , through its adult services, supports people with a wide range of conditions, including 30 families in the Littlehampton and Arundel area and 873 across West Sussex.

However, many more are receiving little or no help – according to the 2011 census, more than 26,000 people in the county provide unpaid care for more than 20 hours a week.
