Netherfield Church - The services this month are as follows and please note the changes because Mountfield church will be closed due to building work.

This Sunday, March 11 is our United Benefice service, that is Brightling, Mountfield and Netherfield all coming together, this month at Netherfield for Holy Communion. On March 18, Mothering Sunday, is a joint service of Holy Communion at Netherfield, not at Mountfield as previously stated and the final service is another joint Holy Communion at Netherfield. All services are at 10 am. and will be advertised here and on church notice boards.

Brilliant news on our Leap Year Quiz – a delightful evening with the maximum number of teams taking part. Over 40 people sat down in the church to a bangers and mash supper provided by our magnificent team of helpers. A challenge to feed so many but they rose to the task, providing hot food in a very short time and it was consumed equally as quickly! Thank you to those who contributed the food and to Rosie for co-ordinating it all. Then on to the quiz. This was to be Peter Sutton’s last quiz for us as he is shortly moving away and it was certainly a good swansong. Not too challenging but difficult enough to set the teams apart with the result that some ten points separated first from last. Congratulations to Richard’s team for their win and to everyone for the delightful atmosphere that made the evening such fun. My thanks to all who attended for their support, there were some new faces which is part of our mission to include everyone in our church and its activities, as well as enjoy themselves. My further thanks to everyone who helped set up and clear away so efficiently and for contributing to the raffle. The end result – a successful evening that everyone enjoyed, this being the prime objective and with a magnificent profit of over £300 to go towards paying for the new boiler. Paul Smith Church Warden.
