TECHNOLOGY: Reducing your email spam
The benefits email offers far outweigh the spam drawbacks, however here at JSPC we are always striving for perfection, so here are our top tips for a spam free life.
• Use an alternate email address
Websites often require an email address to allow you access to certain information or services.

Setting up an alternative email address when using an unknown site, will mean all spam and junk mail generated will be emailed to that inbox.
This still allows you the freedom to check that inbox should you wish, in case you required something from that site.
• Use a different username
It is best not to create user names which are the same as your email address. Most people use either GoogleMail, Yahoo or Outlook as their mail supplier.

• Never share email on social networks
It is never a good idea to share your personal information on social media sites. This goes for mobile number, address and also email.
In addition to being dangerous, you will find yourself inundated with nuisance messages.
Most social media sites have their own messenger tool so if people really need to contact you privately they can use that.
• Online tools – prove you are human

This website converts your email address into a short URL which comes with a custom HTML.
If someone wants your email address they need to pass a simple test proving they are human (not an internet spambot) and then your email will be disclosed to them.
