Residents must have a say
It appears that talks are already underway to sell the site to developers for housing on the basis that a replacement community centre is included in the scheme.
This is fully supported as the current Community Centre has been a great success, supports many different community groups and provides very varied facilities to local residents. However, we concerned that these talks are taking place without consultation with the users of the facility and there is concern that any replacement will not provide the same range of facilities and there may be a delay in delivery.

Hide AdWe call upon Councillor Glazier to pledge that any replacement facility will provide, at least, similar facilities/space to the current centre; that there will not be a significant time gap between the old centre closing and a new centre opening; that all the current regular users and local residents will be given full opportunity to assist in planning any new centre.
Anything less than these pledges will inevitably leave the impression that the residents of Tilling Green are again being sacrificed purely to enable the controlling East Sussex Conservatives to meet the draconian financial cutbacks set by their own government.
