Controversially closed by West Sussex County Council in 2010, volunteers have been fighting to bring it back ever since.
“We signed the lease with the council on Wednesday (August 10) so we’re all ready to go,” said a delighted Vicky Hennessy, 39 Club Management Committee chairman.

An army of youngsters from National Citizen Service (NCS) joined Danny Dawes and others from Grandads’ Front Room and Kez Bridger of Bognorphenia in readying the club, in Church Path off Glamis Street, on August 15.
It will formally open again on September 10, and initially be open for one evening a week as a drop-in cafe for youngsters aged 11-14.
It will also be open for parents and toddlers in the morning.

Speaking about the NCS helpers, Danny said: “They are a great bunch of guys and show that the young of the town are not what they are sometimes portrayed to be.
“The 39 Club is on its way back and it is about time too.”
