A Storrington charity which provides work experience for those with disabilities and long-term health issues is looking for more volunteers after expanding its premises.

Auntie Val’s Ability Centre, which makes and sells artisan jams, marmalades, chutneys and preserves, will also be adding formal accredited training since getting the keys to the new unit in the Chantry Lane Trading Estate.

The charity hopes the new premises will provide a safer environment with space for more social distancing so it can continue to help as many people as possible, especially during these difficult times.

“In the short-term general help with decorating and fitting out to get our new facilities up and running.

“Going forward, we are also looking for volunteers to help with IT, website support, marketing, training, PR, health and safety, sales, fundraising, plus a part-time deliversy driver.”

As well as work experience, Auntie Val’s provides integration, confidence and training so those with disabilities and long-term health issues can gain skills and experience for future employment opportunities.
