Thousands were expected to attend the annual fireworks concert at Goodwood Racecourse, which was to have featured a range of tribute acts culminating in a pyrotechnical extravaganza. Its cancellation will come as a bitter blow to the Festivities in a particularly tough year. The fireworks concert is by far the biggest single event at the Festivities each year, and this year advance booking had been encouraging.
