Thousands raised in Channel-crossing cycle
Rod and Maria Lambert, owners of Giant Shoreham, organised the France bound trip to raise money for different charities across Sussex and signed up 50 riders.
Maria drove the ‘broom wagon’ manning checkpoints and providing food and Rod cycled with the group and helped with any mechanical problems.

“Everyone encouraged each other and it was great to see so many triumphant, smiling faces at the finish. It was good to see some of our customers in action on their bikes.”
Rod said: “It was a hard three days. There was a lot of tuning and running repairs to be done on the first day, but after that things went a lot smoother.
“I may have been a little economical with the truth when I asked Maria if she’d like to go to Paris for her birthday.”
