Sussex travel evening update for Tuesday, August 25

Union Road in Brighton is partially blocked with slow traffic due to an accident. Three cars are reported to be involved in the incident which happened between the A270 Lewes Road to Rose Hill.
The AA said Snatts Road is blocked both ways due to a fallen tree from Mill Hill to Rocks Road.

Hide AdTraffic is heavier than normal and queueing on the A22 London Road Eastbound from A264 Copthorne Road (The Star Inn traffic lights) to Lingfield Road in East Grinstead.
Queueing traffic is being reported on the A24 Dorking Road Southbound from Wolves Hill (Clark’s Green Roundabout) to Marches Road in the construction area. Temporary traffic lights are in place for water main work.
The A24 is also shut due to subsidence between the Southwater roundabout and Hop Oast roundabout northbound.
Queueing traffic is being reported on the A27 Chichester By Pass at A259 (Bognor Bridge Roundabout). Further delays are building on Bognor Road (A259). Travel time is around 10 minutes, the AA said.

Hide AdOn the rail network an earlier track defect between Polegate and Lewes is causing some residual delays and cancellations on routes between Ashford International, Hastings, Eastbourne, Lewes and Brighton while Southern Rail works to return the service to the normal timetable. On Southeastern services due to a tree on the line at Robertsbridge the London-bound line is currently blocked. Hastings-bound remains open, the firm said.
Buses are operating between Tunbridge Wells - Hastings.
