Engineers are working to contain the flood and the hospital said the ‘situation is under control’. A spokeswoman for Surrey and Sussex Healthcare Trust, said the flood was caused by the heavy rain. She said: “Patients are being cared for. The hospital has put its continuity plan into action.” At 3pm a tweet by Surrey and Sussex NHS Healthcare Trust, which runs the hospital, said: “Please be aware that part of our A&E is flooded.
